CHAINSAW ARTIST PROVIDES RACCOON SCULPTURE TO JEFFERS BEND
Marshall County, Kentucky, chainsaw artist, Sam Dunning, provided a raccoon sculpture to Jeffers Bend Environmental Center in Hopkinsville in the fall of 2013. The five foot tall raccoon sculpture was carved out of poplar tree. The idea for the raccoon sculpture was offered by students in Dr. Patricia Todd's marketing class at Western Kentucky University.
In addition to the raccoon sculpture, which will serve as the marquee for Jeffers Bend, the Jeffers Bend Steering Committee has secured a raccoon costume to be worn at various events including Take Kids Fishing, Dinner by the River, Naturefest, and Christmas at the Bend.
